Storefronts
Storefronts are theatrical sets. They are sites where the dreams of the store owner mingle with the fantasies of the passers-by. In the kinds of New England towns where I live and work, these spaces tell stories of struggle, success, failure, tenacity, and always, wonderful feats of imagination.
I have followed this same impulse to other venues in the US. The human goals remain the same, and the larger narrative is how people try to find their way in a shifting economic landscape.
